With friends, we wanted to explore the Tawachiche ZEC. Since a friend had a chalet in Sainte-Tite, it was the perfect starting point to embark on an exploration of the surroundings.

This route, designed by Serge-Olivier Rondeau, crosses two ZECs as well as a Wildlife Reserve and mainly follows secondary and forest roads.

We had planned to take it easy and to ride this route in three days, but we ended up splitting it a bit differently by doing two long days in the saddle and a smaller morning, due to a downpour forcing us to change our plans.

We all had different setups, ranging from a gravel bike with 40 slick tires to a hard-tail with 2.6 tires. We all finished without any issues, but a minimum of 48 mm tires would be great to add this little extra comfort and greater maneuverability in sandy and rocky sections!
